The legal notice required of a Spanish business, the terms on which vessels are listed here, and what happens to information collected through this site.
This website is operated by Karl Atkin, trading as Atkin & Co., a sole trader established in Spain.
These details are published in accordance with Article 10 of Ley 34/2002, of 11 July, on information society services and electronic commerce.
Use of this site is governed by Spanish law. If you are acting as a consumer, nothing stated here removes the rights or the choice of court that consumer law gives you in the country where you live.
The design, text, photographs and marks on this site belong to Atkin & Co. or are used with permission. Vessel photographs remain the property of their owners or photographers. You may share links freely; please ask before reproducing material elsewhere.
Every vessel shown here is offered on behalf of her owner, subject to contract and to prior sale. Any vessel may be withdrawn, and any price changed, at any time and without notice.
Particulars are believed correct but are not guaranteed. They are given in good faith from information supplied by the owner and from inspection, and they do not form part of any contract or offer. Dimensions, engine hours, tank capacities, year of build, equipment and inventory are indicative and should be verified. Photographs show a vessel at a point in time; equipment and condition may since have changed.
Nothing on this site is a survey, a valuation, or technical, legal, tax or financial advice. A buyer should commission an independent survey and take their own professional advice before committing to a purchase.
Prices are shown in euros unless stated otherwise. The tax position of each vessel is stated on her own page and should be confirmed in writing before completion.
The English text is the original. The German, Spanish and French versions are provided for convenience only. Where the versions differ, the English text governs.
Some descriptive summaries on this site are drafted with the assistance of software, from the particulars already held on file, and are reviewed before publication. They carry exactly the same status as the rest of the particulars: believed correct, not guaranteed.
Where a search engine, an AI assistant or any other third party reproduces or summarises this material, we have no control over how it is presented and accept no responsibility for it. Always confirm against this site, or with us directly, before relying on anything.
Atkin & Co. is paid by the party who signs the instruction, which on a listing is the seller. Where a buyer instructs us to find a vessel, that is agreed separately and in writing before any search begins. If a transaction arises in which we would be acting for both sides at once, both are told in writing before it proceeds, and either is free to take separate advice or to walk away. We hold no client funds: purchase monies pass through an independent escrow arrangement or a lawyer’s client account.
Vessel photographs are published with the owner’s permission or under licence from the photographer. If you believe an image of yours appears here without authority, write to hello@karlatkin.com and it will be taken down while the position is checked.
An enquiry creates no obligation on either side. No agreement to sell, to purchase, or to pay a commission arises from anything on this site or from correspondence about it. Any such agreement is made separately and in writing.
The controller of any personal data collected through this site is Karl Atkin, trading as Atkin & Co., at the address given above. Questions about your data, and any request to exercise the rights below, go to hello@karlatkin.com.
Where a link carrying a reference tag was sent to you personally, that record can be connected to you by name. It is used to know which vessels are attracting real interest and to follow up an enquiry sensibly — not to build a profile for any other purpose, and never to sell or share your details.
Enquiry records and site activity are stored in a database hosted by Supabase in Ireland, within the European Union. The website itself is served by Google Firebase Hosting. Both act as processors under contract and neither uses the data for its own purposes. No data is sold, and none is shared with any other party except where the law requires it, or where you ask us to introduce you to a surveyor, a lawyer or a broker acting for the other side.
Passports and identity cards given to us in the course of a sale are held apart from the vessel’s document pack. They are never sent to a buyer, to a surveyor, or to a broker acting on the other side. They are held to confirm who we are dealing with and who is entitled to sell — a check any careful intermediary makes, and one that anti-money-laundering law may require — and they are deleted when the period below has run.
Enquiry records and the site’s own database stay in the European Union. Two parts of each page are served globally: the typefaces come from Google Fonts, and one software library from the jsDelivr network. Serving them discloses the address of your internet connection to those providers, and where that involves the United States it takes place under the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or under standard contractual clauses. Correspondence by email is handled through Google Workspace on the same footing. If you would rather none of that happened, telephone or write by post and nothing will be requested from your browser at all.
The database applies access rules row by row, and the staff area of this site sits behind an individual login. No arrangement is perfect. If a breach occurred that put your data at risk, you would be told, and so would the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, within the time the law allows.
You may ask for a copy of the data held about you, ask for it to be corrected or erased, ask that its use be restricted, object to its use where we rely on legitimate interest, or ask to receive it in a portable form. Write to hello@karlatkin.com and we will answer within one month.
If you are not satisfied with the answer, you may complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, at www.aepd.es.
No decision affecting you is made automatically, and there is no profiling beyond what is described above.
This site sets no advertising cookies, no third-party analytics and no tracking that follows you to other websites. That is why you are not being asked to accept anything.
One item is kept in your browser: your choice of language, so that the site opens in it next time. It is stored only on your own device, it contains nothing that identifies you, and clearing your browser data removes it. Under Article 22.2 of Ley 34/2002 a preference you have asked for does not require consent.
The record of pages viewed and documents downloaded described above is written to our own database rather than stored on your device.
Typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives the address of your internet connection in order to serve them.
One software library is fetched from the jsDelivr network for the same reason. It too receives the address of your connection, and nothing else.
Where a WhatsApp link is offered, following it opens a conversation inside WhatsApp; anything said there is handled by Meta under its own terms rather than this notice.
If something here has gone wrong, write to hello@karlatkin.com and it will be answered personally, by the person who did the work. A consumer who is not satisfied may take the matter to the consumer authorities of the Balearic Islands, or to the courts of the country where they live. The European Commission’s online dispute resolution platform closed in July 2025 and is no longer available.
Links to other websites are offered for convenience. What happens on them is governed by their own terms and privacy notices, not by this one.
This notice will be revised as the business changes. The date below is the version in force. Anything materially different will be marked on this page rather than changed quietly.
